What is laser skin tightening?
This is a non-invasive method of using a laser to tighten the skin by stimulating collagen and regenerating the skin cells. This results in increasingly improved skin laxity and quality, as well as creating a tighter, smoother look. How does it work? Is it painful?
During a laser skin tightening treatment, the laser technician will apply a topical anaesthetic cream to the area of treatment and provide protective eyewear for the client. Then small pulses of laser will be used to treat the skin whilst a continuous burst of cool air is also focused on the area to relieve the client of any pain from the laser. This will occur until the area is properly treated. Duration of the treatment depends on the size and location of the treatment area. Although the treatment shouldn’t be painful, clients are recommended to take pain medication before the treatment if they are particularly intolerant to pain. There may be a small sensation compared to that of a snapping against the skin. However, this should resolve itself within minutes after the session.

Are there any side effects?
Side effects include swelling or redness which should decrease within hours or days of the treatment. However, there are some cases where some clients may experience bruising, blistering or pigmentation in treated areas. These are very rare but can occur.
Those who are prone to herpes breakouts or those who have skin conditions such as cancer should consult their medical professionals before receiving the treatment. Pregnant women should not receive this treatment.
